As 2020 unfolded with evolving challenges and change, public media found itself navigating an unprecedented landscape. This has made it more difficult for KPFK and Pacifica to rebound. These trying times, exacerbated by financial and organizational challenges, have underscored our need to adapt to face current and long-term problems.

We recently conducted a feedback survey to help us better understand our audience and members. The survey covered programming, reasons for supporting KPFK, audience listening habits, and how the expanded 6 PM news is rated.

Oh, how they’ve wanted to stop us. Every day KPFK opens up a new controversy, a new societal pain point, a new cultural, political or community insight, and new revelations about everything that means something in your life. We can’t help it. It’s who we are and what we do. And we won’t stop.

I want to extend my gratitude and appreciation to all who have helped and supported KPFK and the Pacifica Foundation during our fund drive. A special thanks to those that have been there for KPFK including its listeners through thick and thin. It was a tough decision to preempt our regular programming in May so that we could meet our goal to fund KPFK's operations.
