The 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence is celebrated with this commemoration of the efforts to build a true democracy in the U.S, and achieving a government of, for, and by the people.

This gathering celebrates the 1776 signing of the Declaration of Independence with a fresh declaration of independence from the tyranny of the Trump administration. Sponsoring organizations Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace; LA Progressive; Left Coast Forum; Interfaith Solidarity Network; Harriet Tubman Center for Social Justice - L.A.; Turning the Tide; CAIR - Greater Los Angeles; Muslim Public Affairs Council; American Friends Service Committee; and Jewish Voice for Peace jointly invite the public to join for readings, music, and building strength and solidarity for the road ahead. Speakers include Mimi Kennedy, Rick Banales, Daniel Tamm, Sharon Kyle, Dick Price, and Anthony Manousos.
