Virtual Event: Small Business and Mental Health During Coronavirus

By Dave Lesher | CalMatters

As Californians continue to acclimate to life in a state of self-isolation, CalMatters will host two “virtual conversations” this week as part of our “Getting Through Coronavirus, Explained” series — one on what small businesses can do to weather the current economic turmoil, and the second on how Californians can maintain their mental health during these stressful times.

On Tuesday, April 7, at 1 p.m., CalMatters Capitol reporter Laurel Rosenhall will moderate a chat with Isabel Guzman, Gov. Newsom’s director of the Small Business Advocate office at GO-Biz, about what California is doing to help keep small businesses afloat and what financial assistance entrepreneurs can seek from the federal and state governments. You can submit your questions for Director Guzman on this form.

On Thursday, April 9, at 1 p.m., CalMatters health reporter Jocelyn Wiener will talk to therapists Amy Ahfield and Mark Levine about tips and strategies for how to get through the coronavirus while maintaining your mental health. Questions for Afhield and Levine can be submitted here.
